Malachite Management Inc. Appoints Ashka Wirk, BSC, MBA as Vice President

Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA (November 26, 2007) – Malachite Management Inc. (Malachite), a Vancouver-based association and conference management company specializing in health science, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ashka Wirk, BSc, MBA as Vice President.

Ms. Wirk joined Malachite in 2005 as an Association Executive. Since then, Ms. Wirk has held numerous leadership positions within Malachite, including:

  • Executive Director for the American Society for Apheresis (2005-present);
  • Executive Director for the International Liposome Society (2005-present);
  • Co-Executive Director for the International Society for Cellular Therapy (2006);
  • Project Director for the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (2007-present); and
  • Project Lead for the inaugural conference in the Stem Cell Partnering Series (upcoming February 2008).

Ms. Wirk has also held the role of Director of Industry Relations since 2006, delivering record sponsorship success on numerous accounts and leading the development of Malachite's fundraising department.

In this new Vice President position, Ms. Wirk will be instrumental in Malachite’s strategic planning, business development, human resources, communications, client relations and financial management.

Ms. Wirk holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of British Columbia and a Masters of Business Administration, specializing in Marketing and Finance from York University.
