Ms. Steward is an experienced health and medical association executive and has worked with Malachite since 1998, serving as Malachite’s CEO from 2006-2007, Operations Manager from 1999-2003, Executive Director of the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) from 2003-2005, Executive Director of the Canadian Blood and Marrow Transplant Group (CBMTG) from 1999-2002 and Executive Director of the International Society for Hematotherapy and Graft Engineering (ISHAGE, now ISCT) from 1999-2001. Tanis specializes in change management, operations analysis, strategic planning, governance and systems implementation, and has successfully managed start-up and transfer phases for many of Malachite’s clients.

Tanis began her career in the biotechnology industry with Vancouver-based StemCell Technologies Inc, then completed her Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of British Columbia and worked as an associate lawyer for the law firm Davis & Company.
